2023 Arrl Field Day
We Want You to Be a Part of Field Day!
What Is ARRL Field Day?
The short answer is simple:
Field Day is ham radio’s open house!
ARRL Field Day brings amateur radio operators together throughout the United States and Canada for a weekend of operating, learning, emergency-preparedness practice, public outreach, and, most importantly, fun.
For some operators, Field Day is an opportunity to make as many contacts as possible. For others, it is a chance to practice setting up and operating radio equipment under temporary or less-than-ideal conditions.
For everyone, it provides an opportunity to demonstrate amateur radio to the public and show how radio operators can support their communities when normal communications systems are unavailable or overloaded.
More Than a Contest
Field Day brings together many different aspects of amateur radio.
The skills practiced during Field Day are also useful when amateur radio operators provide communications support for community events, public-service activities, and emergencies.
Participants get hands-on experience with temporary stations, antennas, power systems, logging, and radio communications while working alongside other operators.
For many amateur radio clubs and organizations, Field Day is one of the highlights of the year.
You’re Invited!
You don’t have to be an experienced amateur radio operator to participate.
Field Day is a great opportunity to:
- See amateur radio in operation.
- Get on the air.
- Learn from experienced operators.
- Explore emergency communications.
- Ask questions about equipment and operating.
- Meet other amateur radio operators.
- Introduce friends and family to the hobby.
Whether you’re an experienced ham, newly licensed, studying for your first license, or simply wondering what amateur radio is all about, we’d like you to join us for Field Day 2023.
