About George County Amateur Radio Emergency Services.
George County ARES is a group of volunteer amateur radio operators who provide emergency and public-service communications throughout George County. We support emergency responders and can also assist community organizations that need additional communications, logistical support, or extra eyes and ears during special events. Our services are provided at no cost.
In addition to emergency and public-service communications, we promote amateur radio through training, demonstrations, special events, and activities with other amateur radio operators and community organizations.
Our Repeaters
VHF / Fusion Repeater 147.120 MHz (+), PL 136.5 Hz 100 watts with a receive preamplifier Antenna height: 385 feet
The repeater operates in AMS mode, allowing both analog FM and Yaesu System Fusion digital operation. Digital users can also connect through WIRES-X room #28327 or X-NET reflector 004, module 69 (SE Mississippi).
